So Here's My Story

Although Aleya Rahman began her journey with poetry, her writing is now primarily focused on prose, and it can be said that the novel is her main creative domain. Far from the busy capital, her writing and literary studies continue quietly. Including self-identity-related works, the number of her published books is now 7.  

Aleya Rahman was born on December 16, 1971, in Kalimabad village of Kulaura Upazila under Moulvibazar district. Her father is Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf Ali, and her mother is Rashida Khanam. Her grandfather was the renowned Pir Fateh Ali Shah. Born into an enlightened family, Aleya Rahman is the youngest among eight siblings. 

Aleya Rahman's husband is Muhammad Mujibur Rahman. Her son, Abdullah Al Rahman, is an Electrical Engineer. Her daughter, Habiba Rahman Eva, holds an MBA degree and works at a pharmaceutical company. Aleya Rahman is a life member of the Central Muslim Sahitya Sangsad and the Finance Secretary of the Sylhet Lekhika Sangha. She is also a trustee of the Cyclone Lekhak Trust.
